Overview
Třeboň is a quiet, well-signposted South Bohemian town where Renaissance-era fish farming shaped the landscape. The old town centers on a large chateau complex, and the surrounding Třeboňsko protected area is threaded with cycling and hiking trails that loop ancient fish ponds like Svět (dating from the 1570s).

The 12.5 km "Around The World" trail loops Svět Fishpond; the longer 39 km "Around Trebon" cycling route is also well-marked. The Regent Brewery offers guided tours with tastings.
