Overview
Tournai is Belgium's oldest city, founded by the Romans around 50 AD, making it older than Brussels, Bruges, or Antwerp. It holds the distinction of being the only Belgian city ever controlled by the English Crown when it was pawned as security for a dowry in 1214.
