Overview
Tingha is a small New England village of 833 residents with a rich Aboriginal and mining heritage. The area was originally inhabited by the Nucoorilma group of the Murri Aboriginal people, and the name Tingha means 'flat or level (ground)' in their language.

Three accommodation options exist: Green Valley Park (holiday park, 11 km out), Royal Hotel (pub accommodation), and Tingha Gems Caravan Park (1.4 km north). Book ahead as options are limited.
Emergency
For emergencies, dial 000. The Tingha Police Station is not open 24 hours. The Tingha Multipurpose Service Hospital is on Guyra Road at the northern outskirts. Nearest full hospital services are in Armidale or Inverell.
Food
The Red Rose Cafe is the only dedicated eatery. The Royal Hotel serves food and drinks. The Tingha Store provides basic supplies. Bring food if seeking variety.
Money
There are no ATMs in Tingha. Visitors must bring sufficient cash for accommodation, food, fuel, and activities. The nearest ATMs are in Inverell (27 km north) or Armidale (101 km southeast).
Transport
No trains serve Tingha. NSW TrainLink coaches stop outside the police station. A personal vehicle is essential for getting around and reaching attractions.
