Overview
Tierp is a town of approximately 5,500 inhabitants in northern Uppsala County, serving as the center for Tierp Municipality with around 20,000 people. The town developed as a railway settlement after 1874 and remains an industrial hub, home to Atlas Copco and the famous Tierps Järnbruk ironworks that produce manhole covers bearing the town's name.
