Overview
Termessos is one of Turkey's most dramatic ancient sites, perched at 1150 m on Mount Solymos (Güllük Dağı) in the Taurus Mountains. The city was never conquered—not even by Alexander the Great in 333 BC—and its remote location meant the stone was never looted for other building projects.
