Overview
Teignmouth is a quieter coastal alternative to busier Devon resorts like Torquay, offering a Victorian pier, red sandstone cliffs, and a working port. The town grew from a 17th-century fishing port associated with the Newfoundland cod industry into a fashionable Georgian resort after the South Devon Railway arrived in 1846.
