Money
South African Rand accepted; no ATMs in the park. All supplies and fuel must be purchased in Calvinia or Ceres before entry. Cash may be required for park fees at the gate.
Packing
Bring at least 5L water per person per day, sun protection, warm layers for winter nights, and a full tank of fuel. No services inside park boundaries.
Transport
Self-drive essential—no public transport reaches the park. 4x4 vehicle required for most attractions. Nearest fuel and supplies: Calvinia (140km).
Weather
Summer temperatures exceed 40°C; winter nights drop below freezing. Peak birding season August-October coincides with wildflower blooms.
