Overview
Taketomi is one of the Yaeyama Islands in Okinawa, Japan, with a population around 300 and an area of just 5.4 km². The island is famous for its carefully preserved Ryūkyū village with red clay roofs, guardian shisa lions, coral walls, and extensive flower beds.

Transport
High-speed ferries depart Ishigaki every 30 minutes from 07:30-17:30, taking 15 minutes to reach Taketomi. One-way costs ¥690, return ¥1,330. Last boat leaves around 17:30.
