Accommodation
Book ahead even for shoulder season weekends. Kalodoukas Holidays near the harbour can assist with finding rooms. Chorio has charming restored houses but requires climbing many steps.
Money
Greece uses euros (EUR). ATMs available in Yialos harbour area. Harbour restaurants are more expensive; eat in the old town for better value.
Transport
The island's bus runs hourly from Yialos through Chorio to Pedi. Taxis are limited; most visitors walk. Ferry connections to Rhodes are the primary way to reach Symi.
Weather
Best visited in spring (April-May) or late summer (September) to avoid summer crowds and extreme heat. Walking trails are most rewarding in cooler months.
