Sveti Stefan is an unusual and unique place not only in Montenegro or the Budva Riviera but in the whole Mediterranean. It stands on the cliff of a rocky island with roofs red like rubies, connected to the mainland by a sand isthmus that resembles a stem.

Before you go
Access
The island itself is closed to non-resort guests. Only those staying at the exclusive Sveti Stefan resort can access the island proper.
Accommodation
Budget travelers can find rooms at Hotel Vila Krsto (€20/person) or Apartments More (€20-30/person). Mid-range hotels like Hotel Adrovic range €65-125.
Beaches
North Beach charges €50 entry; beach parking costs €12. Beaches north and south of the island are open to the public.
Transport
Taxis operate 24 hours with fixed prices: 25 EUR to Tivat, 30 EUR to Podgorica, 100 EUR to Dubrovnik airport. Minivan transfers are available.
