Overview
Sundsvall is a regional Swedish city of about 100,000 people (51,000 in the city proper) on the Gulf of Bothnia coast. Its nickname Stenstaden (the Stone City) comes from its 1888 reconstruction in art nouveau style after repeated fire destructions, giving it a grand European city center unusual for this part of Sweden.
