Overview
Simeria serves as a convenient transport hub on the E68/DN7 corridor between Deva and Orastie, making it useful for reaching Dacian fortress sites and the Transylvanian heartland. The town itself is modest but provides access to the 70-hectare Dendrological Park, one of Europe's largest botanical reserves, and lies 16 km from the UNESCO-nominated Dacian Fortresses of the Orastie Mountains.
