Overview
Šilutė is a quiet market town of 16,000 people in Lithuania Minor, 40 km south of Klaipėda. The main reason to visit is to access the Nemunas river delta, a nature reserve below mean sea level with Dutch-style polders.

Activities
Boat trips around the Nemunas delta depart from Uostadvaris lighthouse. Bird-watching at Ventė Cape is excellent during migration seasons.

4G from Tele2 throughout Šilutė, possible 5G from Bite. Rusnė island has poor signal from all carriers. Standard European 230V plugs.

Transport
Four daily trains (1 hr) and two daily Kautra buses (1 hr) connect Šilutė with Klaipėda. Bus 115 continues to Rusnė village twice daily.
