Overview
Si Satchanalai (ศรีสัชนาลัย), meaning "City of Good People," was founded in 1250 as the second center of the Sukhothai Kingdom and served as the crown prince's residence during the 13th and 14th centuries. The UNESCO World Heritage Site preserves ancient temples and monuments that are less crowded than nearby Sukhothai, offering a more intimate exploration of Thailand's golden age architecture.
