Money
Park entry fees are collected at the ranger station: US$1 for Panamanian citizens, US$5 for foreign adults. Bring cash as there are no ATMs in the park. Only cash is accepted for entry fees.
Packing
Bring all food, water, camping gear, first aid supplies, and leave-no-trace equipment. No supplies available in park. Treat water from streams or carry purification tablets.
Safety
Park is remote with no emergency services. Hire local guides for multi-day hikes. No marked trails. Inform someone of your plans before entering.
Transport
No public transportation goes into the park. Minibuses to Santa Fe depart from Santiago de Veraguas. Within the park, hiking is the only option; horseback is possible with local guides.
Weather
Dry season (Dec-Apr) best for hiking. Wet season (May-Nov) has lusher vegetation but challenging trails and potential flooding.
