Overview

Sambuca di Sicilia is a hill town in Agrigento province officially recognized among "The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy" (I Borghi più belli d'Italia). Its Arab-Norman heritage shows in narrow winding alleys, the Saracen Quarter (li Setti Vaneddi), and panoramic views over the Belice Valley.

Transport

Sambuca has no train station; rent a car or arrange AST bus connections in advance. Within town, explore on foot as vehicle access to the historic centre is limited.

Sambuca di Sicilia is in the Val di Mazara Wine Region, known for Nero d'Avola and Grillo. Family wineries outside town offer tastings by appointment; the Enoteca Comunale and Enoteca dei Rossi provide in-town wine experiences.
