Overview
Royal Tunbridge Wells is a historic spa town founded in the 17th century after the discovery of the Chalybeate Spring in 1606. The waters were believed to have restorative properties, attracting visitors including Queen Victoria who regularly travelled from London to "take the waters." In 1909, King Edward VII granted the town its "Royal" prefix.
