Overview

Razgrad is a minor destination even by Bulgarian standards, but it holds a few specific draws: the Ottoman-era Ibrahim Pasha Mosque (one of the largest on the Balkans, completed 1616), the ruins of the Roman city Abritus nearby, and proximity to the UNESCO-listed Thracian Tomb of Sveshtari. The city also serves as the home of PFC Ludogorets, a soccer club that won the Bulgarian championship for a record 14 consecutive years through 2024-25, making it a pilgrimage site for football fans.
