Overview
Targovishte is a relatively green and quiet provincial city in northeastern Bulgaria with about 35,000 residents that sees few international tourists. It offers a pleasant rest stop when traveling between major destinations, with a pedestrian main street lined with cafes and shops, National Revival-era architecture in the Varosha neighbourhood, and access to hiking trails in the surrounding hills.
