Why Go?

Rakvere is Estonia's fifth largest city, situated 100 km east of Tallinn and 20 km south of the Gulf of Finland. Known for its 'turbulent cultural life' with daily theatre performances and numerous cafés, the city hosts the first Estonian Punk Song Festival and the international 'Green Christmas' rock festival. The biannual Baltoscandal theatre festival has taken place here since 1994, and the city is noted for its youthful hip-hop and electronic music scene. The motto 'full of power' captures its unexpected energy.
