Overview
Rahovec (Orahovac in Serbian) is Kosovo's wine capital, producing some of the country's best Vranac and Kami wines. The region has cultivated vineyards since medieval times, with Decani Monastery operating one of the oldest working wineries in the Balkans.

Mixed Albanian-Serbian population with bilingual signs. Respectful behavior at religious sites is expected.
Food
Traditional Kosovo cuisine: qebapa, pite, flija. Local produce (peppers, grapes) is excellent. Restaurant meals starting at €3 at cooperatives.
Money
Kosovo uses the Euro (€). Daily market on Saturdays; farmers sell produce along Prizren-Gjakova road.
Transport
Buses to Prizren (€2) run every 30 min until 18:30; to Prishtina (€3.50) every 40 min until 17:30. Gjakova is 26 km west.
Weather
Wine harvest season peaks in September during Hardh Fest. Summer markets offer seasonal fruits along main roads.
