Overview
Raglan is a small seaside town on the west coast of the Waikato region, 45 km from Hamilton, with a population of around 2,700. It is internationally recognized for its world-class surfing, particularly at Manu Bay, and has developed a reputation as an arts hub with a relaxed, bohemian atmosphere.

Summer peak season (mid-December to end of January) sees high accommodation demand. Book well in advance for this period.
Transport
No regular public transport exists in Raglan; the weekend route 23 bus connects the township to Manu Bay. The Raglan Shuttle is the only taxi service.
Weather
Raglan has a temperate climate on the west coast. Summer offers longer daylight hours for activities; winter has shorter days but fewer crowds.
