Radium Hot Springs is a tiny village of about 800 people famous for its natural hot springs located in nearby Kootenay National Park. The village sits at the intersection of Highways 93 and 95, making it a convenient gateway for exploring the East Kootenays region.

Before you go
Hot springs
The pools use water containing small traces of radon (a decay product of radium). Radiation dosage from bathing is negligible—about 0.13 millirems for a half-hour soak.

Located at the intersection of Highways 93 and 95, at the entrance to Kootenay National Park. 3 hours from Calgary, 3 hours north of US border.
Seasons
Summer offers best hiking conditions; winter brings nearby skiing at Panorama, Fairmont, and Kicking Horse resorts. Hot springs pools open year-round.
Transport
BC Transit operates Monday-Friday buses between Invermere and Edgewater via Radium Hot Springs, plus a route to Fairmont Hot Springs. Having a car is recommended for full access.
