Overview
Quellón is a working fishing town of 24,000 people at the southern end of Chiloé Island, serving as a transportation hub for the area. While not a major tourist destination in itself, it offers a unique claim to fame: the southern terminus of Chile's Ruta 5 (Panamericana), marked with a plaque and monument at Punta de Lapas.
