Beer
Tsingtao draft (san pi) at ¥10 is sold from outdoor kegs citywide, served in plastic bags. The August Beer Festival draws crowds to massive tents with food and performances.
Money
Cash is still preferred at local markets, street vendors, and smaller restaurants. ATMs widely available. Alipay and WeChat Pay dominate urban transactions.
Safety
Generally very safe city. Watch for tourist pricing scams at Zhanqiao boardwalk vendors, particularly Xinjiang nut loaves.
Transport
Metro Lines 2 and 3 connect train stations, beaches, and downtown. Bus 125 or 321 reaches Old Stone Man Beach. Taxis start at ¥10.
Weather
Best beach months June-September with water temperature 22-26°C. July-August is humid with frequent afternoon thunderstorms. September-October offers ideal temperatures (15-25°C) with minimal rain.
