Budget
Entrance fee ¥90. Budget ¥40 for dormitory monastery beds or ¥180 for private rooms. Transport extras include cable car (¥35-60) and boat (¥5).
Etiquette
Visit Taoist temples respectfully. Avoid Chinese holidays if seeking a quiet, spiritual experience.
Safety
Some hiking trails on Qingcheng Hou Mountain remain closed due to earthquake landslide damage from October 2009.
Transport
Express trains from Chengdu North Station take 45 minutes; buy tickets the day before as they sell out. Buses from Chadianzi Bus Station take 1-1.5 hours.
Weather
Frequent rain and fog year-round. Wear layers and bring rain gear regardless of season.
