Overview

Qianshan National Park is a forested mountain destination 18 km southeast of Anshan city, featuring 708.3-meter peaks covered in dense vegetation. The park stands out as one of the few places in China where Buddhist and Taoist temples, monasteries, and nunneries coexist within the same site.

Mobile coverage exists around Anshan and the park. Purchase a Chinese SIM card or ensure international roaming is activated. WiFi is available at higher-end hotels in Anshan.

Money

China's renminbi (¥/CNY) is the local currency. ATMs accepting international cards may be limited outside Anshan city. Carry sufficient cash for park entrance fees, transport, and rural restaurants.

Packing

Bring sturdy hiking shoes with good grip for steep stone paths and ladders. In winter, pack thermal layers, gloves, and waterproof boots for snow conditions.

Safety

Mountain paths are steep with vertical sections. Use handholds and ladders carefully. Young children require supervision. Safety barriers protect the most dangerous sections.

Transport

Bus Number 8 runs frequently from Anshan central bus station to the park gates for ¥2. Taxis from Anshan to the park cost ¥35-40. Within the park, electric buses cost ¥10 per ride.

Weather

Summer temperatures average 32°C with humidity. Winter temperatures drop to -20°C with heavy snowfall. Dress in layers and bring waterproof gear for summer hikes.
