Overview
Qeshm Island is the largest island in the Persian Gulf, serving as both a duty-free shopping destination and a nature reserve with UNESCO Geopark status. The island protects a mountainous interior with dramatic geological formations: Chahkooh Canyon's eroded rock faces, the 15-meter-deep Stars Valley with statue-like formations dating back 2 million years, and Namakdan Salt Cave, one of the world's longest salt caves.
