Overview
Ptolemaida is a highly industrialized town in West Macedonia, primarily known for its lignite mining and four power plants that produce 70% of Greece's electrical power. It sits on the Eordaia plain at 600m altitude, surrounded by Mount Askio-Siniatsiko to the southwest and Mount Vermios to the northeast.
