Prescott (pronounced 'PRES-kut') was Arizona's first Territorial Capital, earning it deep historical roots with preserved Victorian architecture and ghost-town atmosphere. The city hosts the world's oldest rodeo each July and maintains Whiskey Row—five historic saloons including Arizona's oldest at The Palace.

Downtown Prescott has many cash-only bars and restaurants. ATMs available but expect fees. Credit cards accepted at hotels and larger establishments.
Nightlife
Whiskey Row features five historic bars including Arizona's oldest saloon. Many downtown establishments are cash-only. The row can get noisy at night.
Transport
Groome Transportation runs hourly shuttles from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport ($37 one way) from 6:15AM-midnight. YavapaiLine buses cost $2 downtown. Large vehicles not recommended on AZ 89A's hairpin turns.
Weather
At 5,368 ft elevation, Prescott is significantly cooler than Phoenix. Monsoon season runs July-September. Summers are warm, winters cold with occasional snow.
