Overview
Portrush is a small resort town (population 6000) on the north coast of Northern Ireland, much swollen by summer visitors. It's an excellent base for the Causeway Coast attractions such as Giant's Causeway, Dunluce Castle, and the Carrick-a-Rede bridge, all reachable by bus.

Accommodation
Book accommodation well ahead in summer (June-August) as the town swells with visitors and availability is limited.
Money
UK uses Pound Sterling (£). Cash machines available near railway station and in town centre.
Transport
Trains from Belfast Grand Central take 2 hours to Portrush (change at Coleraine). Bus 402 runs every 30 min from Coleraine through Portrush to Giant's Causeway and Ballycastle.
Weather
North coast is breezy; bring layers even in summer. West Strand is exposed and suitable for surfing.
