Overview
Plymouth is one of England's classic ocean cities, a centre for shipping for centuries and today a base for the Royal Navy with the most extensive naval base in Western Europe at Devonport. The city offers wonderful Devon and Cornwall scenery, famous locations like the Hoe, the Barbican, and Plymouth Sound, yet without the tourist trap feel found in many other English cities.
