Overview
Playa Santo Domingo is a small coastal strip on Isla de Ometepe, an island formed by two volcanoes in Lake Nicaragua. It offers a quieter alternative to the busier Moyogalpa, with accommodations and restaurants strung along a single main road.

Accommodation
Options range from basic hospedajes ($6+) to beachfront hotels ($30-50). Hospedaje Espirales offers dorm-style rooms, while Villa Paraiso is the most upscale option.
Food
Restaurants cater to tourists and are pricier than mainland Nicaragua. Natural is the island's only vegetarian restaurant. Budget meals are found at the northern end of the strip.
Money
Prices in Playa Santo Domingo are higher than typical Nicaragua due to tourism. Budget travelers should expect to pay US$6-50 for accommodation and US$3-5 per meal. Cash in cordoba is accepted everywhere.
Transport
The ferry from San Jorge to Moyogalpa (45 min) is the main access point. Old buses and collectivos connect towns on the island. Walking is sufficient within the settlement.
