Overview
Playa Grande is a rare find on Costa Rica's developed Gold Coast: a protected 5km white sand beach backed by mangrove estuary where giant leatherback turtles nest each year. Unlike neighboring Tamarindo, strict conservation laws have kept development minimal, creating a low-key surf town with a genuine local community rather than a tourist bubble.
