Overview
Phetchaburi is one of Thailand's oldest settlements, mentioned in records dating to the 8th century, with significant artifacts from the 12th century. The city offers a working Thai experience without tourist infrastructure—hundreds of temples, the hilltop Khao Wang Palace dominating the skyline, and a buzzing traditional market operating from pre-dawn until mid-day.
