Overview
Parasnath Hills, also called Sammed Sikharji by Jains, is one of the most sacred pilgrimage centers for the Jain religion. Twenty of the twenty-four Jain Tirthankaras attained salvation on this hill, making it a profound spiritual destination.

Pilgrim dharmashalas offer basic dormitory beds from ₹50. Hotels in Madhuban range from ₹100-₹800. Book ahead during peak pilgrimage season.
Culture
This is a sacred Jain site. Alcohol and non-vegetarian food are strictly prohibited. Dress modestly and respect religious practices.
Safety
Start the climb early morning. Carry a torch/headlamp and fully charged phone. Avoid being on the hill after dark as there are no lights.
Transport
Parasnath railway station (Isri Bazaar/Dumri) on NH 2 is the nearest railhead. Buses run Dumri to Giridih. Hired taxis available at Isri station.
Weather
Best visited October to March. Summers can be extremely hot and make the climb difficult. Monsoon brings slippery trails.
