Overview
Paekākāriki is a small coastal town at the southern end of the Kapiti Coast, offering a quieter alternative to nearby Paraparaumu. The town has historical significance as a WWII US Marine station and provides access to the Queen Elizabeth II Park memorial.

The Paekakariki Escarpment Walk is a highlight 10km track connecting Pukerua Bay and Paekakariki stations. Part of the Te Araroa walkway.
History
Paekākāriki has WWII significance as a US Marine station. Queen Elizabeth II Park to the north contains a memorial with local historical information.
Transport
State Highway One runs through Paekākāriki. Metlink 251 bus serves the town on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday only. Train services stop at Paekakariki station on the Wellington-Kapiti line.
