Overview

Osmaneli is a small Turkish town in the Eastern Marmara region that rewards visitors with a preserved old town of traditional Ottoman whitewashed two-storey houses. The town was once a stop on overland trade routes to Constantinople, and although much was lost to an 1874 fire, the remaining architecture in the Camii Kebir and Camii Cedid neighborhoods offers a glimpse into 19th-century Ottoman provincial life.
