Overview
Ogbunike is a small Igbo town in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State, famous for the Ogbunike Cave—a UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List site located in a forested valley. The town is unique for its reverence of pythons (Eke) and tortoises as sacred animals that cannot be harmed; violators must undergo traditional cleansing rituals.
