Overview
Ocotepeque serves as a practical border crossing point between Honduras and Guatemala, with easy access to Esquipulas in Guatemala and connections to major Honduran cities. The town itself is quiet and not particularly tourist-oriented, but it functions as a useful transit hub for overland travelers moving between these three Central American countries.
