Ocho Rios (commonly called Ochi) is Jamaica's most visited cruise port, drawing ships year-round to its sheltered bay on the northeastern coast. The local currency is the Jamaican Dollar (JMD), but US dollars are widely accepted in tourist areas. Exchange rate is approximately 86 JMD per 1 USD. ATMs are available downtown.
Transport
Route taxis (shared minibuses) are the cheapest local transport at 120 JMD for trips to nearby towns. Chartered taxis are pricier but safer when called through your hotel.

Tropical climate year-round with temperatures in the 80s°F. Hurricane season runs June to November; the wettest months tend to be September-October.
