Overview
Nysa is a small medieval town in Opole Voivodeship that served as an important regional centre during the Middle Ages. With a population of 44,000 (2019), the town centre preserves Gothic architecture including churches, a bishop's palace, and two remaining fortified tower gates from the 14th century.

Polish is the local language. German is sometimes understood given the town's historic German name Neisse.

Transport
Nysa Train Station is close to the town centre. PKP and Polregio operate regional trains from Wrocław, Opole, Kłodzko and other nearby cities.
