Overview
Nusaybin (ancient Nisibis) is one of Turkey's most historically layered cities, with continuous settlement dating back to at least 901 BC. The city has been part of the Assyrian Empire, Hellenistic Seleucid dynasty, Roman Empire, and Sasanian Empire before being conquered by the Rashidun Caliphate in 639.
