Overview
Novaya Chara is a small city of about 4000 people in Zabaykalsky Krai, roughly halfway between Severobaikalsk and Tynda along the Baikal-Amur Mainline. Built by Kazakhs, it serves as a common stopping point for expeditions into the Kodar Mountain ranges and several local gulag sites.
