Overview

Nötö is a small island in the Archipelago Sea National Park that offers a peaceful escape from mainland Finland. With only about half a dozen year-round inhabitants but a significant summer population surge, it provides an authentic glimpse of island life in the Turku archipelago.

Finnish and Swedish are both used in the archipelago. English may be limited among older residents but tourism workers typically speak English.

MobilePay and cash accepted; cards work at Bodö during season. Expect to pay in euros. No ATMs on the island—bring sufficient cash from the mainland.

Safety

Nötö is a small, quiet island with low crime. Standard maritime safety precautions apply for boat travel. The guest harbour specifies berth depth of 1.5-2.4m with anchoring forbidden.

Transport

Ferry M/S Baldur connects Nötö to Pärnäs (Nagu) and Utö. Coach buses from Turku reach Pärnäs. Taxi boats available for custom schedules.
