Overview
Nördlingen is one of only three German towns with completely intact city walls, and the only one built inside a meteorite crater. The 25-km Ries Basin impact site is one of Earth's best preserved craters, and the town received moon rocks from NASA in exchange for allowing US astronauts to train here for the Apollo missions.
