Overview
Negara is the gateway to Jembrana, Bali's least-visited regency, offering a stark contrast to the tourist chaos of southern Bali. The area features strong Islamic influence from Bugis settlers, dramatic black sand beaches, traditional Madurese fishing boats, and the famous Mekepung buffalo races held on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month.
