Naozhou Island is a bit like a miniature version of Hainan, with just one of everything: one town, one ferry line, one scenic beach, one historic lighthouse, and one sea turtle sanctuary. You can visit its main sights in a single day from Zhanjiang, or bring a bicycle and spend a few days exploring its out-of-the-way corners.

Activities
Main attractions: Naozhou Lighthouse (free), Sea Turtle City (¥5), and Nayan Bay Beach (¥5). Bring a bicycle to explore beyond the main town.
Food
Local fruits (bananas, dragon fruit, green jujubes, passion fruit) are abundant and cheap. Eateries near the market are open for breakfast and close by 18:00.
Money
The island is very small with limited services—bring sufficient cash from Zhanjiang. Hotels start from ¥100.
Transport
Ferries run hourly from Dongnan Harbor on Donghai Island to Naozhou Town, 07:00-17:00. Fares are ¥11-16 one-way. On the island, mini-taxis charge a flat ¥20 per ride.
