Overview
Nambung National Park protects one of Australia's most surreal landscapes: hundreds of limestone pinnacles up to 3.5 m tall rising from desert sand like stone forests or ancient tombstones. The formations are best photographed in evening light when warm tones wash across the formations.

Before you go
Connectivity
Patchy 4G from Optus and Telstra in Cervantes and along Pinnacles road. No signal north/south on highway. No 5G north of Perth.
Money
Australia uses AUD. Credit/debit cards widely accepted; ATMs available in Cervantes at the post office and petrol station.
Packing
Bring at least 2L water per person, sun protection, closed shoes for hiking, and camera for Pinnacles photography. Flies are prolific—consider a fly net.
Safety
Extreme heat December–March; watch for wildfires; rough seas at beaches; heavy fly presence. No dogs permitted in park.
Transport
Two hours from Perth via Indian Ocean Drive/State Route 60. Integrity Coaches run three evenings weekly from Perth to Cervantes and beyond. Highway 1 passes east but doesn't access main sights.
Weather
Arid, scorching climate: 40°C is normal December–March with afternoon sea breezes; park may close approaching 50°C. Wildflower season runs September–May with limited rainfall May–September.
