Overview
Mullingar is a quiet county town in the Irish midlands, better known as the birthplace of Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary and singer Niall Horan of One Direction. The main draw is Belvedere House and Gardens on Lough Ennell, a Palladian villa built in 1740 whose owner imprisoned his wife and brother for decades over jealousy and an affair.
